The Problem
Emergency Reopening of Laterals - We were contacted by our client as a matter of urgency following the installation of a 60-metre x 225mm UV liner. Following the installation of the liner, they began to reopen the 19x live lateral connections using their own cutter. Unfortunately, their cutting unit broke down meaning the connections we not fully reopened. This was on a main road and the client was facing time constraints with traffic management as well as the surrounding properties backing up.
The Solution
We attended site the following morning with our Prokasro 1.7 lateral cutting drills unit. We utilised a range of piercing, reopening and cleaning head to fully reopen each junction using lateral cutting expertise. This was completed in conjunction with our client’s survey team to ensure they were happy with the works we carried out.
The Outcome
Not only did we manage to reopen each connection before any blockages could occur; we also managed to work within our clients time constraints - helping them to avoid any additional charges due to the unforeseen breakdown while keeping their client happy!
