Case Study - Remote Robotic Bung Removal from Drains
Project Name –
Removal on a 100mm bung to clear a foul waste system
Equipment used –
Streicher CL50 unit
Pipe diameter – 100mm
The removal of obstructions utilising our equipment can avoid uneccessary disruption and added costs
The Problem - Bung Obstruction in Drain Pipework
Our client got in touch after finding a 100mm bung within their toilet line which was causing ongoing blockages. Attempts had been made to try and dislodge the bung but to no success. The only point of access was a behind the toilet. Unfortunately, the toilet was situated in the basement of the expensive property and an excavation would have been severely disruptive.
The Solution - Remote Cutting to Breakup Drain Blockage
Milling Robots - Utilising our Streicher CL50 unit along with specialised cutting heads, we managed to break up the bung and remove it from the pipework. Even with numerous bends in the pipework and working internally our cutting unit carried out the works with ease.
The Outcome - Restore Full Lateral Flow to Sewage System
We successfully removed all the components of the bung and restored full flow to the toilet line. Another example of utilising our equipment to avoid a lengthy, expensive and disruptive excavation.
Clearing a blocked drain or sewer can often be achieved by simply rodding the system with a series of drain rods. However, many blockages do require milling to break up the obstruction to allow removal, sewer maintenance tools are special cameras and milling robots, Datomic are industry leading service providers and have the xpereince and equipment to help with domestic and commercial projects across the UK.
